As promised, here is an instructional video on how to do the Raw Edge Roll. It is a new technique we've used in several of our quilts (the instructions will also be included with the patterns) like this one: For Barb.
The scroll work on this quilt adds a personal embellishment which makes it special! We've also used it as sleigh rails, flowers, inside of flowers, and hay wire. The possibilities are endless. Take a look at the video and then add it to your next project, teach it in your next class, or pass it on to a friend!
And you'll get a kick out of Tristen, my oldest grandson. When he saw the camera coming out, he didn't waste anytime putting on his Sunday best to be a part of the show! He was so cute as he practiced saying his lines. He did really good job...see for yourself!
Dear Mom,

Dear Mom,
I had such a BLAST at Quilt Market! Market is such a fun place. The people are beyond awesome! I had such a great time hanging out with you for a week and being able to be in the world of quilting. The atmosphere is fabulous and it makes me wonder why EVERYONE doesn't do this?!
I am just sad that the week is over and we have to go back to reality now. But it's okay because we get to do it again in October!
Love, Michelle:)
Quilt Market a Success!

Where do we even start? Let's see, the best part of Market was the great new friends we made...no! It was the old friends we got together with and had a great time...no! It was the thousands of talents on display...no!
I can't say enough about how great Market was. We unveiled our new Spring 2011 line, including a new technique called the Raw Edge Roll. We feel it was a success because we came away with huge smiles and lots of new friends.
Well all we can say is that Market was wonderful. We loved seeing old friends and also making new ones! We were able to have dinner with our booth neighbors from previous markets. I think that definitely is in the running for the best part about market! Thanks Karen and Jackie! Thanks Janice, Mary, and Sandy! We will see you all in Houston.
My mom put together an awesome booth with all of her new Spring 2011 Designs and it was very well done. She is always thinking of ways to improve and it seems like set up is getting easier and easier.
Please excuse the cell phone picture! With all the excitement, we could never remember to bring our camera!
We had the best booth neighbors! I have actually been blessed with another Aunt! Aunt Susie's House was right next door and Aunt and Uncle Susie were so great. Also fellow Utahns, they were so much fun to chat with and get to know and we had a lot in common. We also met Julie from Patch Abilities, Inc.. She is awesome and we had tons of great laughs. And Peggy from Ackfeld Wire and I have a plan for Houston. I don't want to give anything away, but there will be music and dancing involved!
My Dad and brother, Ryan were also able to come and see the wonder. We were close to home so we wouldn't let them get out of it! I think they were impressed even though they said the hunting and fishing expo was better. (Secretly, I think we all know the truth...they just wouldn't let us know it!)
Another cell phone picture...trying to capture the massiveness of Market!
The only thing left to say is...SEE YOU IN HOUSTON!!
The Final Countdown

I am done sewing for market -- YEAH!!! You should see my sewing studio. I would take a picture, but I can't find my camera!! I have hired a couple of school age girls to help me reorganize my studio when they get out of school the first of June -- until then we will just wade thru!!
Now I just need to finish the last touches for our booth and we are ready to go. My daughter Michelle and her WONDERFUL hubby Steve are coming from NM to help. I am sad though -- she is bring four of my grandkiddos and I won't be able to play with them. Steve is wonderful, he is always willing to help me out. Every time he comes to visit I have a list of things that I would like done and he "gits' er' done"!!
I am excited for Market. I have been in contact with some of my designer friends from around the country, it will be fun to see them and go to dinner and just gab!!
